Race fan takes wheel for a new challenge Grosse Pointe Park man to host leukemia benefit

You wouldn't normally find Grosse Pointe Park resident Jim Kelly, 43, choosing floral centerpieces and deciding on the perfect menu. Your best bet would be to scan the pit crews at a racetrack.

Kelly's company, Precision Race Services Inc. in Rochester Hills, designs and manufactures electrical systems for motor-sport racing teams, from planes and boats to cars. But Kelly decided to take on a new personal challenge -- fighting childhood leukemia. He's organizing a fund-raiser for the Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan on August 31 at the Rattlesnake Club in Detroit.
